Interface with other APA Departments

PASS works with several other APA departments.

See the instructions for how PASS works with the Cat Team.

Behavior Help or Other Special Requests

Cats: Mark McNamara will answer these for the cat team.
Dogs: Gerri K <Gerri@austinpetsalive.org> or Robin C.

Pet at TLAC or Other Emergency Intake Request

PASS Volunteers email the rescue team when we are informed that a dog or cat is at TLAC. Rescue will watch for the pet on the kill list. If the pet is on the list and APA can't take it, they will get a 24 hour extension (if TLAC allows), and inform PASS. PASS Volunteers will contact the guardian and inform them of the situation and ask if they can get the pet. [do the tlac emergency posters post the pet to CL?]

Behavior Evaluations

Dogs: Basic behavior evaluations are done by Shari or Paul from the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior at no charge. In the Add Case form, when you select Behavior Assessment as the next step, an email is automatically sent to Shari.
Cats: [check] Liana or Kynama handle this part.

Medical Records

Faxes are received by Naomi and forwarded to the PASS email by her. PASS Volunteers upload them to Google Docs and place them in the apa medical records [get name] folder. This folder is shared will the adoption counselors group email. Adoption counselors can check these records to confirm a dog or cat can attend events.

Posting to Craigslist

When PASS pets are qualified for the Assisted Rehoming program, other teams handle the posting so we can coordinate APA efforts and not overwhelm Craigs List.
In the Add Pets form, when the Ok for online? box is checked, an email is sent to dog.marketing@apa (posting is done by jill.peterson@austinpetsalive.org) (Dogs) or cat.marketing@apa (Cats) (posting by Jane Gyarmathy), and a copy is sent to the PASS account. A version of the pets form is located in the Animals database and the online posting team can view the pet information there for all active, qualified pets.

Adding to Petfinder

Same as above. But dog posting done by Laura Westcott [should I change this so the PASS team does it?]
[who does Cat posting?]

Scheduling Adoption Events

Dogs: when guardians fill out the Schedule Adoption Event form, an email is sent to dogscheduling@austinpetsalive.org and to the PASS account. Holly should let us know if the dog can't be brought to the selected location. PASS volunteers update the form and confirm or reject the request, inform the guardian, and update the form with whether the pet actually attended

Cats: [need to figure our who will do this for cats as they have volunteer counselors and use doodle polls to sign up cats and volunteers for events.]
